The new patriotic labor project of the BRSM "Winter Route" continues to be implemented in the Vitebsk region

The starting point was the monument to the first builders of Novopolotsk "The First Tent", and last Monday morning began with a labor campaign to clear snow and branches at the "Rylenkі" memorial complex in the Dubrovno district. The memory of Soviet soldiers of the 11th Guards and 31st armies, who died in fierce battles from October 1943 to June 1944, is immortalized here. In 2020, the complex was reconstructed and solemnly opened on Victory Day. In memory of the feat, the participants of the "Winter Route" lit lamps.

– Our "First Step" squad united 21 of the best student detachment fighters from BarsGU, VSU named after P. Masherov, VGAVM, as well as Polotsk State University, on the basis of which it was formed, – said commander Vladislav Shinkevich. – We have hundreds of kilometers ahead of us, dozens of good deeds and meetings. A series of patriotic puzzles popularizing the symbols of independent Belarus – the state coat of arms and flag, as well as coloring pages "Belarus Remembers" – was specially developed for the project. What we are doing is very important, first of all, for ourselves, for the younger generation. I believe that this project should become traditional.

Meetings of student detachments with schoolchildren from Dubrovno and Osintorf were emotional and memorable. The fighters conducted trainings, entertainment and sports games, interactive health classes, master classes, career guidance lectures, and presented video presentations for them. Great attention was paid to the history of the Great Patriotic War.

Along the route, project participants carried out labor campaigns to clear snow in the Park of Military Glory in Dubrovno, on the territories of the monument to Osintorf underground fighters in the village of Buda, and the military burial site "Brotherly Grave" in the village of Osintorf. They also provided necessary assistance to the elderly in improving their home territories, chopping firewood, etc. In the evening, students held concert programs for everyone who wished.

The patriotic labor challenge of the "First Step" detachment continued in the Orsha region on January 27. Meetings were held with students of city school No. 20, and labor actions to clear snow at military burial sites and obelisks. There was also patronage assistance, concerts, and excursions. In particular, the student detachment members visited the Orsha Flax Mill.

And today, the plans for the student leaders include a busy program in the village of Yurtsevo, Orsha district, during which the members will meet with children and youth, help the elderly, and pay tribute to those who died during the Great Patriotic War. The day will conclude with a visit to the Orsha Locomotive Depot named after K. S. Zaslonov and ice skating at the Ice Arena.

The final point of the "Winter Route" of the "First Step" detachment will be Tolochin. Its itinerary includes a number of significant places and interesting meetings.

Recall that the new patriotic labor project of the republican headquarters of student detachments of BRSM is being implemented in the Vitebsk, Grodno, and Mogilev regions and will conclude on January 30.
