The new project “Unknown Glubochchina” will surprise residents and guests of the region

The creative project "Unknown Glubochchina" about amazing places, patriotism, and love for the native land is being implemented by the Glubokoye Museum of History and Ethnography. Guests and residents of the region will not only be able to hear about the most unusual attractions but also see them with their own eyes without leaving their place. VR helmets and goggles will help with this.

We remind you that it was in Glubokoye that a unique initiative for rural areas was implemented – "Virtual Journey through the Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Region." An interesting idea became a reality thanks to the project "Assistance to Local Development in the Republic of Belarus." Museum Director Elena Myadelets draws attention to:

– One of our halls today represents a real virtual space. We have 15 pairs of special goggles and VR helmets that work remotely, without connecting to a computer. Thanks to this, virtual excursions have long gone beyond the museum walls. We conduct them in educational institutions, at enterprises, telling and showing our compatriots firsthand what is remarkable and what the district can be proud of.

By the way, in 2020, the Glubokoye Museum was recognized as the best in the Vitebsk region. The provision of paid services to the population, including the organization of virtual excursions, also played a role. And this year, another idea was born, the interlocutor continues:

– The youth of the district approached us with a proposal: to show Glubochchina from a new, unknown side. And to make it more interesting, they decided to do it again using modern technologies. As soon as the weather permits, we will take cameras and photo cameras and set off to shoot material for future заочных "journeys."

What "highlights" will make the top? There are many bright, special places in the region. Among them, for example, is a stunning karst cave created by water and time, and also Lake Gin'kovo, which is called the cleanest in Belarus. Panoramic shots are also planned to be taken in the village of Zadorye. Its history leads to the "Belarusian sails" of the writer Alexander Grin.
