A new sanatorium is planned to be built in the "Braslav Lakes" National Park.
May 21, Braslav district /BELTA correspondent/. A new health resort is planned to be built in the Braslav Lakes National Park, said the acting Director General of the environmental institution, Andrei Kudin, at a press conference today, according to a BELTA correspondent.
"For these purposes, we are going to reduce the industrial zone and allocate 2 hectares for the construction of a new facility," said Andrei Kudin. He also noted that the possibility of attracting national and foreign investors to the project is currently being studied. "It's too early to talk about deadlines, but we plan to do it in the coming years," added the head of the park.
The current health resort in Braslav needs major repairs and is not designed for the treatment of children with certain diseases. There is a problem with groundwater in the Braslav district, and residents who need rehabilitation are forced to receive treatment in other districts. In general, in his opinion, the Braslav district needs to be reoriented from an agricultural to a tourist one.
The protected zone of the Braslav Lakes National Park is 3,406 hectares. The main tasks of the park are to preserve the natural complex of the Braslav Lakes group, develop and implement scientific methods of nature protection, preserve biodiversity, as well as organize and conduct environmental education, recreational and tourist activities. -0-
