A new record has been set at an auction for the sale of non-residential real estate in Vitebsk
The unused buildings of the former evening school in Vitebsk were sold today for over Br9.6 billion as a result of an auction at the Vitebskoblimushchestvo fund, the fund reported.
The new owner of the real estate is a private Vitebsk company. Its representative explained that in the future, it is planned to reconstruct the buildings into an office center. According to the fund's specialists, there have been no more expensive purchases at the Vitebskoblimushchestvo auctions in recent years. The lot included a three-story and a one-story pre-revolutionary building with a total area of over 1 thousand sq.m, located in the central part of Vitebsk near Victory Square, two linden trees and two box elder maples, as well as a 25-year lease for a land plot of almost 0.1 hectares.
Its starting price was almost Br9.2 billion. Since only one bidder showed interest in the object, the auction was declared invalid, and the sole participant agreed to purchase the real estate at the starting price increased by 5%. The money raised from the sale of the buildings will go to the Vitebsk budget. In total, since the beginning of the year, 6 objects have been sold at auctions organized by the Vitebskoblimushchestvo fund for a total amount of about Br11.5 billion.
