A new X-ray diagnostic complex has been installed at the Lepel District Hospital
– It differs from the previous one in that it does not require X-ray film: the information is converted into digital format. It is viewed by the laboratory assistant who took the picture and the radiologist on a computer in their office. If necessary, we can transfer such a digital image both via the local network within the hospital and to another medical institution, even outside of Belarus, – noted Ilya Shendalesov, Chief Physician of the Lepel Central District Hospital.
– Modern medical technologies need to be promoted in the provinces so that people can receive the necessary diagnostics in the region where they live, and rural residents do not have to travel to the regional center for this. The qualifications of Lepel doctors are sufficient; they just lacked high-class equipment, – said Yuri Derkach, Head of the Main Department for Healthcare of the Regional Executive Committee, member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus.
The X-ray diagnostic complex is planned to be commissioned by Victory Day, and by autumn, a wide-profile ultrasound machine will be purchased, which will allow for the examination of the heart and abdominal cavity, thyroid gland, and pelvic organs. In addition, the chief physician has planned current repairs in the reception department and the purchase of two pieces of equipment for the polyclinic department.
