A new sports complex has opened in Vitebsk
A sports facility has appeared on Lyudnikov Avenue on the basis of OJSC "Krasny Oktyabr", which is part of the holding company "Belarusian Leather and Footwear Company "Marko". The existing three-story building on the territory has been reconstructed and turned into a modern multifunctional complex with a variety of equipment and modern halls for practicing many sports, including team sports, yoga, etc.
The solemn opening ceremony was attended by representatives of regional and republican authorities, including the chairman of the regional executive committee Nikolai Sherstnev and the Minister of Emergency Situations Vladimir Vashchenko.
— The emergence of new sports facilities has become a good tradition for the region. They are being built not only in the regional center, but also in the districts, — said Nikolai Sherstnev. — It is gratifying that representatives of business and industry are contributing to the development of the sector's infrastructure.
Nikolai Nikolaevich also emphasized that the new sports complex will become a key platform for the development of volleyball in the region. Athletes will be trained here who will not only be the best in Belarus, but will also be able to show worthy results in the international arena.
The head of SOOO "Marko", Nikolai Martynov, emphasized that the holding company's management pays great attention to promoting a healthy lifestyle for its employees and encourages active recreation. For example, shoemakers have separate plastic bank cards to which funds are transferred for visiting the sports complex or the enterprise's recreation center.
