An exhibition dedicated to the "new gods" of modern youth has opened in Vitebsk.

March 4, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The exhibition of Polish artist Anna Mytsa at the Marc Chagall Museum in Vitebsk is dedicated to the "new gods" of modern youth, the director of the cultural institution, Lyudmila Khmelnitskaya, told a BELTA correspondent. The exhibition features 10 large-format works, including two installations. In her works, by using sacramental symbols and images of current pop culture and cinema idols, the Polish artist tried to draw attention to the problem of youth's loss of spirituality. "Fictional heroes of comics, cartoons, skillfully crafted images of famous singers and actors have become their gods and icons. However, they bring false ideals, personal destruction, and emptiness into the lives of young people," the artist believes. The exhibition is a joint project of the Marc Chagall Museum in Vitebsk, the "Arsenal" Gallery (Białystok, Poland), and the Polish Institute in Minsk. -0-
