The current "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" is distinguished by a colossal number of world stars

July 9, Vitebsk /Corr. BELTA/. This year's "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" festival is radically different from all previous festivals from an artistic point of view. This was announced today at a press conference by the director of the Directorate of the International Festival of Arts, Rodion Bass, according to a BELTA correspondent. "Each of the past festivals was unique, and the current one is distinguished by a colossal number of world stars," emphasized Rodion Bass. For example, the performances of Dmitry Hvorostovsky were awaited in Vitebsk for five years - not due to the artist's unwillingness, but due to the tight touring schedule of the Russian celebrity. "Hvorostovsky's solo concert will be very spectacular, as he will be accompanied by the Presidential Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus conducted by Viktor Babarikin," said the director of the festival directorate. "The creative evening of Raimonds Pauls, who will perform accompanied by the National Concert Orchestra of Belarus conducted by Mikhail Finberg, will be unique." Among the stars whose performances will illuminate the Vitebsk stage are pop legend Yuri Antonov, the idol of millions Toto Cutugno, as well as Nino Katamadze. Rodion Bass added that efforts are being made, and quite successfully, to diversify the festival, including by attracting, so to speak, unconventional artists and groups to its venues. This year, there is a huge demand for the concert programs of chanson masters Elena Vaenga and Stas Mikhailov. The popular cabaret band "Serebryanaya svadba" will perform for the first time. The festival's theatrical program is also very rich. -0-
