Vitebsk residents will be told about the harm of disposable cups and the benefits of biodegradable bags during the lecture "Zero Waste".

Employees of the Center for Environmental Solutions will talk about the "Zero Waste" concept in Vitebsk. The meeting will take place on October 19 at the regional scientific and technical library.

The topic of the discussion will be waste management culture. In particular, it will cover how much waste is generated annually, why disposable cups are not environmentally friendly, and whether biodegradable bags can be found.

The Center for Environmental Solutions is engaged in promoting an environmentally friendly lifestyle and developing international cooperation to preserve the environment. It promotes the idea of preventing excessive waste generation and advocates for separate waste collection and recycling in Belarus.

To assist the country's residents, the "Green Map" has been created, which explains where to take secondary raw materials (plastic, paper, glass), hazardous waste, and unnecessary items.

By the way, by the decree of the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade that came into force in September, bags, disposable tableware, and cutlery made of paper have been added to the list of goods that must be available in stores. At the same time, the minimum set of plastic bags and disposable tableware for retail outlets has been reduced.
