JSC "Dolomit" intends to master the production of dolomites for the glass industry in 2011

August 27, Minsk /Elena Demeshkevich - BELTA/. Dolomite OJSC (Vitebsk) intends to install and commission a technological line for the production of dolomites for the glass industry in 2011, the enterprise informed a BELTA correspondent. It is planned that the new line will meet the raw material needs of the republic's glass enterprises. The production capacity of the line will be 120 thousand tons of products per year. The project cost is Br13 billion. In addition, in 2011-2012, Dolomite plans to start construction of a line for the production of so-called dead-burned dolomite. The production capacity of the line will be 30 thousand tons of products per year. The main consumer of this material will be BMZ. The development of new product output is an import substitution project. Its cost is estimated at Br40 billion. The enterprise is actively working to reduce the energy intensity of production as a key condition for reducing the cost of products. In 2011-2014, it is planned to replace 5 existing Aerofol mills (with a capacity of 60 tons per hour each) in workshop No. 7 with two vertical roller mills, whose production capacities will ensure the output of 380 tons of products per hour. The commissioning of roller mills will allow the installation of 6 MW gas turbine units and subsequently generate its own electricity for the enterprise's needs, and use waste gases to dry the manufactured products. The project cost is estimated at Br120 billion. The products of Dolomite OJSC are sold on the domestic market of the republic and exported. The enterprise's exports for January-July 2010 increased by 93.7% compared to the same period last year. Thus, in seven months of the current year, 73 thousand tons of products worth $1.4 million were exported (in seven months of 2009 - 44.7 thousand tons of products worth $713.6 thousand). Dolomite flour accounts for the largest share in exports. The first shaft kiln at the enterprise was launched in 1931. Currently, it is the only enterprise in Belarus and the largest in Europe for the extraction and processing of dolomite raw materials. In 1995, the enterprise was transformed into Dolomite Open Joint Stock Company. -0-
