OAO "Naftan" processed 160 thousand tons of Venezuelan oil in August
August 27, Minsk / Irina Aniskevich - BELTA /. Naftan OJSC processed 160 thousand tons of Venezuelan oil in August. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent at the enterprise.
The first train with oil from Venezuela arrived at the unloading rack at Naftan OJSC on July 31 of this year. The oil was delivered from Latin America by tanker by sea to the Estonian port of Muuga, and then by rail to Novopolotsk. Three tankers with 80 thousand tons of oil each have already arrived at the port of Muuga. The oil delivered by two tankers has already been processed in Novopolotsk, the third tanker is being unloaded.
According to the results of work for January-June of this year, Naftan OJSC processed 3.8 million tons of hydrocarbon raw materials. The profitability was 4.2%. As noted at the enterprise, due to the changed conditions of oil supplies from Russia in the first quarter, the enterprise experienced difficulties, but by the end of the first half of the year, the situation stabilized. Supplies of Venezuelan oil will strengthen the financial and economic position of Naftan.
The Novopolotsk oil refinery Naftan was commissioned in 1963 and is part of the Belneftekhim concern. The plant specializes in the production of fuel and oil products, produces more than 70 types, including oils, gasoline, and diesel fuel of Euro-4 and Euro-5 standards. About 70% of the products are supplied to CIS countries, the European Union, the Middle East, and the USA. At the end of 2008, Polimir OJSC joined Naftan OJSC, and a petrochemical complex was created.
An agreement on the supply of Venezuelan oil to Belarus was signed in March of this year. According to the agreements of the presidents of the two countries, the total volume of its supply should be about 4 million tons over 12 months. According to Belarusian Oil Company CJSC, since May of this year, six tankers with 480 thousand tons of Venezuelan oil for Belarus have arrived in the port of Odessa. Another tanker is expected to arrive in Odessa next week. From there, the oil is delivered by rail to the Mozyr oil refinery. Three more tankers with 240 thousand tons of oil have been delivered to the Estonian port of Muuga, from where it is sent by rail to Naftan OJSC. The transportation time of hydrocarbon raw materials by rail to Belarus from Estonia is shorter than from Ukraine. The distance between Odessa and Mozyr is about 1050 km, between the Estonian port of Muuga and Novopolotsk - 850 km. -0-
