Polotsk-Steklovolokno OJSC has launched the production of single-seater fiberglass boats

Polotsk-Steklovolokno OJSC has launched the production of single-seat fiberglass boats, the enterprise's marketing department informed a BELTA correspondent. The new boat model is designed for fishing and travel. The safety parameters of the vessel are confirmed by a certificate from the State Inspectorate for Small Vessels of Belarus. In particular, the boat's unsinkability is ensured by two buoyancy blocks. During testing, a boat completely filled with water is loaded to 40% of its carrying capacity, after which the boat remains on the water surface. A high-quality protective and decorative coating eliminates the need for annual painting and repairs. The boat can be transported on the roof of a passenger car equipped with additional devices. Previously, the enterprise mastered the production of similar two- and four-seater boats, as well as sports rowing boats: canoes and kayaks in racing and training versions. This production is carried out at the fiberglass products and consumer goods manufacturing facility. About 20 boats are manufactured here monthly. It is planned to supply the boats to both the domestic and foreign markets. In particular, a small batch has been sent to Russia, and opportunities for supplies to some CIS countries are being studied. The range of boats produced by the enterprise is planned to be expanded. Polotsk-Steklovolokno OJSC specializes in the production of fiberglass and products made from it: electrical insulating and structural glass fabrics, building and thermal insulation materials, etc. Almost 90% of the manufactured products are exported to more than 40 countries. The first stage of the enterprise was commissioned in 1958. In 2003, the production association was transformed into an open joint-stock company. The state owns the controlling stake. Over 4.5 thousand people work at the enterprise. -0-
