Polotsk-Steklovolokno OJSC increased the production of fiberglass boats by 30%

Polotsk-Steklotkan JSC has increased the production of fiberglass boats by 30% this year, the enterprise's marketing department informed BELTA correspondent. The production of boats was launched at the enterprise's fiberglass products and consumer goods production facility in 2009. Currently, three types of boats are produced here: one-, two-, and four-seater boats for recreation and fishing. About 30 boats are manufactured monthly. Their hull is made of high-strength fiberglass, which has the thermal conductivity of wood, the strength and durability of steel, and moisture resistance. The high-quality protective and decorative coating eliminates the need for annual painting and repairs. The boat can be transported on the roof of a passenger car equipped with additional devices. The safety parameters of the vessels are confirmed by the GIMS Belarus certificate. In particular, the unsinkability of the boat is ensured by two buoyancy blocks. During testing, a boat completely filled with water was loaded by 40% of its carrying capacity, after which the boat remained on the water surface. Currently, fiberglass boats are sold on the domestic market, but opportunities for their supply to other countries are being studied. In particular, a small batch has been sent to Russia. In the future, the range of manufactured boats is planned to be expanded. Polotsk-Steklotkan JSC specializes in the production of fiberglass and products made from it: electrical insulating and structural glass fabrics, building and thermal insulation materials, etc. Almost 90% of the manufactured products are exported to more than 40 countries. The first stage of the enterprise was commissioned in 1958. In 2003, the production association was transformed into a joint-stock company. The state owns the controlling stake. The enterprise employs over 4.5 thousand people. -0-
