OJSC "Postavyfurniture" has mastered the production of new student sets

October 14, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Postavyfurniture OJSC has mastered the production of new school furniture sets for schools, the enterprise's director, Sergey Zemchenok, told a BELTA correspondent. The product consists of a desk and two chairs, the main feature of which is the ability to adjust the tilt of the tabletop, the depth of the seat, and the height of the legs. The ability to adjust the furniture to the physiological parameters of schoolchildren will reduce the risk of developing decreased visual acuity, spinal curvature, etc. In addition, the furniture is made with all corners rounded, which reduces the possibility of injury, and is painted with environmentally friendly and wear-resistant powder paint in bright colors. The head of the enterprise has no doubt about the demand for the new product. "An agreement has already been concluded for the supply of 200 sets for a new school in the Bilevo microdistrict of Vitebsk," the source noted. From 2010, the production of such products will be put into mass production. Initially, it is planned to produce 500 sets per month, which will amount to one-third of the total volume of school furniture. In January-August, the enterprise produced products worth Br4.3 billion, which is 16% higher than the same level last year. The profitability of sales was 12.2%. Furniture worth $232 thousand was exported. The main part was accounted for by Kazakhstan, to which the enterprise sent four wagons of school furniture worth $150 thousand. Supplies were also made to Russia and Latvia. Plans for 2010 include entering the markets of Lithuania and Ukraine, as well as developing work with Russian regions. Sergey Zemchenok noted that the enterprise is constantly being modernized. Thus, over the past three years alone, investments in fixed assets amounted to about Br1.5 billion. With these funds, new equipment was purchased for workshops for the production of cabinet furniture, metal structures, and solid wood processing, and the production of MDF furniture facades was mastered. Next year, Br150 million will be allocated for the purchase of modern equipment for the manufacture of log houses from rounded logs. The enterprise was founded in 1980. It specializes in the design and production of school and household furniture (50% of production volume each). The product range exceeds 100 items. The total number of employees is over 200 people. -0-
