JSC "Vitebsk Carpets" shipped the first batch of carpets to Latvia

April 20, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Open Joint Stock Company "Vitebsk Carpets" shipped the first batch of carpet products to Latvia, Deputy General Director for Commercial Affairs of the enterprise Sergey Kolesnik told a BELTA correspondent. The Western European market had remained closed to Vitebsk weavers until recently. The main sales markets were in Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. However, the current global economic situation has allowed the enterprise to compete with well-known European carpet manufacturers, as Vitebsk products are cheaper without compromising on quality. Thanks to the technical modernization carried out, the joint-stock company has mastered all types of machine-made products, from synthetic tufted carpets to high-density woven carpets with hand-carved relief patterns. The color palette can be composed of 8 colors. At the same time, the price of Vitebsk carpets remains affordable due to direct contacts with raw material suppliers, which come from Grodno and Novopolotsk, as well as from abroad - India and Bangladesh, said Sergey Kolesnik. "Vitebsk Carpets" has a wide dealer network abroad. There are 40 dealers of the enterprise operating in the Russian Federation, 4 in Ukraine, and a representative in Moldova. A branded retail chain has been established in all regional centers of Belarus. The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry named "Vitebsk Carpets" the best exporter of 2008 in the "Light Industry" nomination. According to the results of 2008, the export growth rate reached 120.3%. In 2008, the joint-stock company produced products at comparable prices worth Br96.2 billion. The growth rate was 111%. The balance profit exceeded Br8 billion. Based on the results of operations in 2008, the company paid out Br1026 in dividends per share.
