OJSC "Vitebsk Carpets" presented a new collection of carpets dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus
– By creating this collection, we wanted to capture the events of the war years and preserve their memory for our descendants, – noted the Director of Vitebsk Carpets OJSC, Artyom Lohankin. – The exhibits will remain in the company's museum.
– The theme of war is still relevant for us, and we have created a collection of tragic images from the past, where we tried to remind people and convey to the younger generation the pain, horrors, and tragedy of past times, explained the Head of the Design Department, Lyubov Mikhailova. – Many lives were broken, souls were wounded, the war distorted the lives of millions, we lost relatives, loved ones, and the country lost talented and unique people. Without memory of the past, there is no bright future; it is needed so that tragic mistakes are not repeated in the future. These paintings are created in tribute to the people who, with faith in victory, gave us life. Through art, we can leave a message to our descendants so that they learn the historical truth and feel the spirit and atmosphere of previous eras.
The collection will be available for public viewing and will be seen by participants of the Forum of Regions, guests visiting the enterprise as part of industrial tourism, and everyone interested.
On the eve of the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, a "Carpet Bench" art object was opened on the territory of Vitebsk Carpets OJSC, where a dialogue platform will operate. The event is also timed to the 120th anniversary of the trade union movement in Belarus. Representatives of the regional executive committee, the administration of the Pervomaysky district, and the enterprise took part in the opening.
A carpet-shaped bench, designed in terracotta and white colors, will serve as a resting place for employees and can also function as a photo zone.
