The provision of fertilizers to farms in the Vitebsk region exceeds the 2010 level by one and a half times

The provision of farms in the Vitebsk region with fertilizers for spring sowing is 1.5 times higher than the same indicator in 2010, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Agriculture and Food Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. According to current data, about 6 million tons of organic fertilizers have been delivered to the fields (about 87% of the target), which is more than 140% compared to the same indicator last year. By the end of March, it is planned to fully complete the supply of mineral fertilizers to farms, whose needs for this type of fertilizer are currently met by 66%. In total, farms have accumulated over 172 thousand tons of active substance of mineral fertilizers, which is 1.5 times higher than the level of 2010. Currently, agricultural enterprises are selectively starting field work, in particular, reseeding perennial grasses, and applying mineral fertilizers in places where field conditions allow. Special attention is paid to the organization of fertilizer selection from the storage facilities of agro-service enterprises. This year, farms in the region will have to apply about 7 million tons of organic fertilizers alone for the first time, so it is necessary to organize effective preparation for the prompt execution of this work within optimal deadlines today. In general, the readiness of farms for sowing is assessed as higher than last year, the Agriculture Committee noted. Over Br400 billion of budget funds and credit resources have been directed towards the purchase of seeds, fertilizers and plant protection products, fuel supply for farms, equipment repair and other preparatory work. -0-
