June 30, Vitebsk region / Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. The production volume of veterinary drugs at UP "Vitebsk Biopharma" upon reaching the enterprise's design capacity should be at least Br100 billion per year. This task was set today by the Prime Minister of Belarus, Sergey Sidorsky, during his visit to the enterprise, according to a BELTA correspondent. After the reconstruction, which is being carried out within the framework of the program for the development of veterinary drug and instrument production, Vitebsk Biopharma has become one of the leading enterprises in its industry, not only in Belarus but also in the CIS. The state has invested over Br190 billion in its modernization. To recoup this project, it is necessary to increase production volumes. This will reduce the costs of purchasing foreign drugs for domestic animal husbandry and increase product exports, emphasized the Prime Minister. According to the director of the biopharma, Arkady Yudasin, the state has done everything necessary for the development of the enterprise. The solution to the task set by the Prime Minister will depend on the factory, and for this, it is necessary to staff it with qualified specialists and create a product sales system. Sergey Sidorsky instructed to develop a strategy for the biopharma's development and involve all interested ministries and departments in its implementation. Upon completion of the reconstruction, it is planned to increase the production volume to Br37 billion, of which Br20 billion will be import-substituting products. The state will save Br16-17 billion due to price reduction. The share of exports in the total production volume will be about 30%. The reconstruction of the factory began in 2006. Currently, a commissioning committee is working at the enterprise. The factory was founded in 1930 and specializes in veterinary therapeutic and diagnostic drugs for animal husbandry. In January-May of the current year, the production volume of products at comparable prices amounted to Br6 billion, which is 26% more than in the same period last year. The growth rate of new products in January-May was 217.6% and is estimated at Br1.5 billion. The volume of shipped products at current prices for five months reached Br5 billion, which is 28% higher than the same indicators last year.
