The volume of housing construction in Vitebsk in 2010 is planned to be almost doubled to 400 thousand sq. m.
September 22, Vitebsk / Sergey Kotovets - BELTA /. The volume of housing construction in Vitebsk in 2010 needs to be almost doubled, said Vladimir Katashuk, First Deputy Chairman of the City Executive Committee, today at a session of the Vitebsk City Council of Deputies, according to a BELTA correspondent.
Over the past eight years, the volume of housing construction in the regional center has actually tripled, emphasized Vladimir Katashuk. According to him, in 2009 it is planned to commission more than 210 thousand sq.m. of housing, and in the coming year to bring the construction volume to 400 thousand sq.m., i.e., to build 58 multi-story residential buildings and individual houses.
To achieve the set goals, land plots for promising mass development have been identified in Vitebsk, as well as about 40 plots for building houses in existing developments. About 70% of the design and estimate documentation for the 2010 housing program has been developed, and by October, design organizations are to complete this work. The distribution of apartments in future new buildings is also underway; to date, the new residents of apartments in 23 houses, the construction of which is planned for 2010, have been identified.
The main sites for housing construction in Vitebsk are the Bilevo-2, Bilevo-3, and Luchesa microdistricts with a total construction volume of about 700 thousand sq.m. of total living space. Residential buildings will be constructed based on the modernized KP D 111-108 series of houses, other structural systems based on monolithic and prefabricated frames, as well as from brick and gas silicate blocks. The city authorities intend to pay special attention to the integrated development of residential microdistricts with the simultaneous construction of social, cultural, and utility facilities. For this purpose, it is planned to actively attract potential investors by putting up land plots for such facilities for auction.
Individual housing construction needs to be intensified in the regional center. For now, the share of individual residential buildings is about 10% of the total volume of housing construction, and the city executive committee is considering more than 300 applications from citizens for land allocation for individual construction.
In January-August, 115 thousand sq.m. of living space were commissioned in Vitebsk. About 29 thousand people are registered as needing to improve their housing conditions. -0-
