The volume of services provided by agro-ecotourism entities in the Vitebsk region tripled in 2009

The volume of services provided by agro-ecotourism entities in the Vitebsk region in 2009 increased threefold compared to 2008, reaching Br1 billion, the press center of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties Inspectorate for the Vitebsk region informed a BELTA correspondent. Last year, agro-ecotourism estates in the Vitebsk region were visited by almost 7.9 thousand domestic and foreign tourists, their number increased 2.2 times. Representatives of 21 countries used the services of rural estates, while the number of foreign nature lovers increased threefold compared to 2008, reaching 1.1 thousand. In total, 273 agro-ecotourism entities are registered in the region, including 266 individuals and 7 peasant farms. In 2009, their number increased 1.7 times, and the number of concluded contracts for tourist services increased 2.6 times, exceeding 2.2 thousand. This type of activity is developing in 20 districts of the region. -0-
