May 14, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The volume of housing construction in the Vitebsk region needs to be increased from 598 thousand sq.m to 850 thousand sq.m. This task was set today at a meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee by its chairman, Alexander Kosinets, BELTA correspondent reports. In Vitebsk alone, it is planned to commission 360 thousand sq.m of housing this year. The growth of housing construction will entail the development of enterprises in the construction industry, woodworking and other related sectors, the chairman of the regional executive committee is confident. According to Alexander Kosinets, the material and technical component of the new program has been worked out. It is planned to create three more construction departments in the region. In 2010, the volume of housing construction is planned to be increased to 1 million sq.m. In the first quarter, more than 130 thousand sq.m of housing were commissioned in the region. -0-
