Dates for the start of cranberry and lingonberry harvesting announced

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection has announced the dates for the start of wild berry harvesting in Belarus. Thus, in the Vitebsk region, the collection of lingonberries will begin on August 17 this year.

The ministry noted that in certain districts, district executive committees may set later dates for the start of wild berry harvesting, and more detailed information can be obtained from the city and district inspectorates of natural resources and environmental protection and local executive and administrative bodies.

The Ministry of Natural Resources also reminded that, according to Art. 15.26 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus, violation of established deadlines, use of prohibited means or methods for collecting or harvesting mushrooms, other wild plants or their parts, or other violation of harvesting or collection rules entails a warning or a fine of up to 20 base units (the currently established base unit is 100,000 rubles), for an individual entrepreneur - up to one hundred base units, and for a legal entity - up to five hundred base units.
