The regional committee of the agro-industrial complex trade union held a tourist rally for agrarians in the Postavy district
– This year, the rain only pleases us, – asserted the participants of the regional tourist gathering of agricultural workers, which the regional committee of the industry trade union held in Postavy district. – Let it pour even harder, the land needs moisture. We will also rest from the heat, and if it gets cool, we will warm up in sports battles or by the campfire.
It should be said right away that the tent city was equipped with maximum comfort – today's tourist has wide opportunities for this. Polotsk KHP set up a field kitchen by the road, and on the very early morning of the first day of the gathering, its team had breakfast with porridge and pancakes, and by lunch, fish soup, sausages were ready, and meat was smoked…
– Last year we were fifth, – said the Polotsk team. – Now we aim to be in the top three, if not to win.
However, achieving this was not easy. The tourist gathering brought together 19 teams: 10 were sent by districts and 9 by processing enterprises. Each hoped for leadership in the overall standings or in specific competitions. The program included tournaments in mini-football and beach volleyball, darts, kettlebell lifting and tug-of-war, an obstacle course, and creative contests…
Despite the rain, which subsided and then intensified, several hundred people lined up at the sports and tourism complex "Ozerki". The participants were welcomed by the chairman of the regional trade union committee Viktor Gutorov, the chairman of the Postavy District Executive Committee Sergey Chepik, and the head of the sports and tourism department of the regional executive committee Vasily Zakharevich. Everyone wished the teams good luck. "May the best team win!" was heard in the speeches. Without friendship, it's impossible for agrarians. It connects teams in integration structures, unites agricultural producers and their processors, and helps during the busy sowing and harvesting campaigns. Therefore, the matches on the fields were held with enthusiasm, but also with respect for the opponent. This was required by the game on the wet and therefore slippery surface of the football field, and by overcoming the obstacle course, where sometimes help was needed for a member of another team.
The strongest among the districts were the Postavy footballers, and among the processing industry – representatives of the Vitebsk Meat Processing Plant.
Volleyball battles were noisy, and the atmosphere around the darts площадка was tense. In the tug-of-war, the strongest were the Orsha team.
In the team standings based on the sum of results, the victory went to Polotsk MCC. The second place was taken by the Orsha team, and the third – by Lepel MCC.
The teams were in no hurry to go home. They said goodbye to old and new acquaintances (this was the second time the regional trade union committee held such a sports event), thanked the organizers for the opportunity for a useful rest, and the hosts from Postavy, and in particular the district committee of the trade union and its chairman Alexey Filimonov – for the excellent conditions for meeting friends.
