Областная благотворительная елка собрала в Витебске около 1 тыс. детей
The regional charity New Year's celebration gathered about 1,000 children at the Vitebsk Concert Hall.

Winners of subject Olympiads, creative contests, sports competitions, children with disabilities, children from large and low-income families, and orphans from all districts of the region were invited to the governor's Christmas tree, which is traditionally held as part of the "Our Children" campaign. Before the New Year's performance, the children could participate in fun games and contests, a festive photo zone was organized, and Santa Claus's workshop was open, where children created New Year's souvenirs with their own hands. Guests of the celebration were entertained by children's creative groups and costumed characters; a decorative and applied arts exhibition was organized.

Before the start of the solemn part of the celebration, the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, also visited the New Year's souvenir workshop, talked with children and teachers, familiarized himself with the exhibition, and shared his impressions with journalists. "When you look at the children's crafts, you try to see the future of the young masters in them. Some things are made very professionally. These children must be noticed and given the opportunity to develop their talent. It is important that gifted children are not lost in life. Future outstanding masters should be supported starting from the age of 6-8," said the head of the region.

Later, congratulating the children from the stage of the Vitebsk Concert Hall, the governor emphasized that the best of the best were invited to the celebration. The Christmas tree brought together children who have achieved success in their studies, sports, and creative endeavors, who are initiative and purposeful. "The children's achievements

- it is a great joy for adults. I wish you continued success, that your dreams come true and the goals that each of you has set for yourself are achieved," said Nikolai Sherstnev. "I hope today's celebration leaves a lasting impression and brings a true New Year's mood." As a gift, the children presented the governor with souvenirs made with their own hands.

After the official part, it was time for a fairy tale. Children and adults became spectators of the New Year's interactive musical "In Wonderland" - the famous Lewis Carroll's fairy tale came to life on the stage of the "Vitebsk" concert hall. The New Year's charity event "Our Children" started in Belarus on December 11 and will run until January 10. The marathon of kindness is held under the patronage of the President of Belarus. During the event, heads of republican government bodies, local executive and administrative bodies, enterprises and organizations visit children's boarding institutions, foster and adoptive families, children's hospitals, provide them with assistance in solving existing problems, and present gifts to children.
