The regional Christmas tree in Vitebsk gathered 950 gifted children from the northern region
For the participants, game and New Year's areas, photo zones, entertainment locations, and master classes were organized. "The mood is super!" shared Sofia Zverugo from school No. 3 in Postavy. She added:
– This is my second time at the regional New Year's tree, the first was in the fifth grade. We traveled here for about four hours, but it was worth it! It's fun and noisy here, I like it very much. I study at an art school and before the New Year I wish happiness, health, and kindness to my relatives, friends, and loved ones, and for myself – that my works are exhibited. I dream of becoming an architect, so there is room to grow and strive.
Fifth-grader Viktor Bondarev from Liozno is attending the regional New Year's tree for the first time. The boy demonstrates success not only in his studies but also in his creative pursuits. For example, singing helped Vitya win the main prize at the district children's creativity festival "Rainbow of Talents." The student is also fond of decorative and applied arts and breeds rabbits:
– I expect success, inspiration, and fulfillment of hopes from the upcoming Year of the Dragon. And the most important thing I will wish for when the clock strikes midnight is for everyone to be healthy!
The young participants of the regional event witnessed exciting events from the New Year's musical adventure "The Diamond of Knowledge," were able to take selfies at numerous photo zones, and, of course, recharge with the special pre-New Year's atmosphere.
The Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, cordially congratulated everyone on the holiday:
– By the initiative of the President of our country, the traditional New Year's charity event "Our Children" is being held so that no child is left without attention and their New Year's wish is not fulfilled. Dear children, I have no doubt that in the past year you have learned a lot of new and interesting things, studied well, performed good deeds and useful actions, and your parents and teachers have supported you in everything and rejoiced in your successes. Each of you has tried to make a feasible contribution to the development and prosperity of your native Vitebsk region, and your achievements are proof of this. In these festive days, we all believe in the best. I am sure that the coming year 2024 will open up new opportunities and prospects. Health, peace, kindness, well-being, and the fulfillment of your most cherished wishes!
Much is being done in the region to enable children and youth to develop their abilities and talents, and to implement initiatives and projects. For example, in 2023, two kindergartens were commissioned in Polotsk and Miory, another "School of the Future" in the region in Sharkovshchina, and the educational process was organized in the renovated buildings of the Polotsk Cadet School... The construction of a family-type orphanage in Polotsk and a kindergarten combined with a primary school block in the Bilevo-3 microdistrict of Vitebsk is being completed. The construction of kindergartens in Lepel and Novopolotsk has begun, and projects for similar institutions for Orsha and Vitebsk have been developed. And this is far from a complete list of what has been done and planned for the future.
