The regional intergenerational ball for senior citizens "Christmas Symphony" was held in Vitebsk
Similar events were held throughout the republic and in every district of the Vitebsk region on January 8, on the unified day of the "Christmas Symphony" balls. A distinctive feature of the ball at the regional philharmonic was its intergenerational focus.
The waltz – the king of dances – spun not only peers from among the older generation but also mixed couples.
– We performed the "Waltz of Generations" with ladies from the Oktyabrsky district to the famous music by E. Doga for the film "My Gentle and Tender Beast," – shared the high school boys from Secondary School No. 3 named after L. Belitsky. – The performance was preceded by hours of rehearsals. During this time, we learned attentiveness and thoughtfulness towards our partners.
In line with this admission from the ball's participants, the greeting from its guest – Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee **Vyacheslav Durnov** – resonated. He noted that the tradition of holding Christmas balls sets a good cultural tone. The older generation teaches the younger generation gallantry, courage in expressing noble feelings, and the perception of beauty.
The classical program was supported by the hosts – the philharmonic artists. Humorous surprises were presented by members of gentlemen's clubs, the movement of which is gaining momentum in the Vitebsk region. Creative groups from the districts, with the participation of representatives of the golden age, presented their dance compositions, predominantly waltzes.
It should be noted that the gentlemen were more nervous before entering the dance floor, while the ladies, lightly fluttering across the parquet, seemed to shed years, illuminated by an inner light. The Christmas ball is the perfect time to feel younger!
