The regional educational forum of BRSM volunteers gathered more than 100 participants in Vitebsk
– A volunteer's activity does not depend on age, social status, or family status. Doing good deeds without asking for anything in return is very important, – noted Anatoly Linevich, Assistant to the President – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region. – Good deeds do not go unnoticed, as they shine like beacons for those in need of help. And your actions are a worthy and bright example for others.
Anatoly Linevich presented awards to the winners of the republican competition "Youth for the Purity of Cities and Villages," in which youth from the Vitebsk region took 8 out of 9 places.
– We can confidently say that those kind hearts who are ready to selflessly help others 24/7, not for money or awards, have gathered in this hall. Today, the volunteer movement is the most priority in the Youth Union. And the guys who work in "Kind Heart" are unique and amazing, with a big soul and an open heart. Volunteer detachments are a symbiosis of good deeds, from the Timur movement to working youth and the adult population, – said Vladimir Babichev, First Secretary of the Regional Committee of BRSM, and awarded the winners and prize-winners of the regional round of the republican competition "Volunteer of the Year – 2022."
By the way, the competition was held in three stages and managed to unite several hundred caring volunteers from all regions of the country.
Volunteer intensives were held at the beginning of the forum for volunteers. Thus, students of the Vitebsk State Medical College named after Academician I. Antonov conducted a master class on providing first aid, and the head of the local charitable association "Dobryaki" Lilia Demchenko from Orsha spoke about successful volunteer practices. Also, forum participants visited stationary social institutions in the regional center.
After that, they visited interactive platforms and participated in the New Year's workshop, where they made holiday cards with their own hands, decorated Christmas tree ornaments, and created the symbol of the "Miracles for Christmas" campaign – red mittens.
In the regions of the country, under the auspices of the BRSM volunteer movement, more than 1,000 volunteer teams have been created, uniting about 34,000 young men and women. In the Vitebsk region alone, there are over 300 "Kind Heart" teams with a total number of more than 5,000 people.
The event was organized by the regional committee of the BRSM with the support of the main department of ideology and youth affairs, the main department for education, and the committee for labor, employment, and social protection of the regional executive committee.
