A regional seminar-meeting on the preparation of machinery for spring sowing was held in the Vitebsk region
Grain will become the main product for the country's farmers this year, as it is a "basic indicator" on which the export potential of domestic agricultural products depends. This opinion was shared with journalists at a regional seminar-meeting on preparing equipment for spring sowing, which took place in the Vitebsk region, by the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, Vladimir Andreichenko.
"We don't have easy bread. This year, spring sowing is taking place in difficult conditions, because both the political and economic situations are difficult. The President of the country has set a serious task - to obtain 9 million tons of grain. This is due to the fact that it is necessary not only to provide the country with food, and our livestock industry with feed, but also Belarus must export a significant amount of agricultural products, and not only grain. However, special attention should be paid to the grain crop, because grain is a basic indicator. The development of livestock farming and the export potential of our products depend on it," Vladimir Andreichenko emphasized.
As for the Vitebsk region, the Chairman of the House of Representatives noted that, on the whole, the region is ready for spring sowing, although there are farms where this task has not been fully accomplished. This particularly affects technical equipment. "On the march, we still need to adjust a bit and eliminate the shortcomings that were present. This is a serious issue. And there should be no dependence or excuses based on circumstances in this situation. Everyone works under equal conditions, but, unfortunately, the results of preparation for sowing are different. In the Vitebsk region, everything possible must be done to obtain at least 1.2 million tons of grain," Vladimir Andreichenko outlined the task for the farmers.
