The regional youth tourist gathering in Polotsk district will bring together about 800 people

The Vitebsk Regional Youth Tourist Rally will be held in the Polotsk district on June 18-20, the head of the youth affairs department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Valery Kunashko, told a BELTA correspondent. Teams from all cities and districts of the region, about 800 people in total, will take part in the event dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. On the picturesque bank of Lake Suya, participants of the tourist rally will compete for three days in mountain-hiking, cycling and water tourism techniques, and in a tourist triathlon. In addition, they will have to determine the strongest team in the competitions of amateur arts, tourist life and skills, newspapers, and a local history quiz. Winners will be determined based on the results of all competitive tasks, as well as in individual events. They will be awarded honorary diplomas and memorable gifts. The tourist rally is held with the aim of patriotic education, organizing leisure time and strengthening the health of young people, and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Its organizers are the department for youth affairs, the department of physical culture, sports and tourism of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, as well as the Polotsk District Executive Committee. -0-
