Regional and city Honor Boards updated in Vitebsk
About 40 enterprises and organizations, winners of the competition based on the results of work for 2022, have been added to the regional and city Boards of Honor on Victory Square in Vitebsk.
The best districts, enterprises, and employees who improve the standard of living in the northern region through their labor have been recognized by the leadership of the region and the city. Among them are producers of goods and services, industrial organizations, construction, transport and communications, trade, housing and communal services, educational, healthcare, culture, and sports institutions.
About 20 organizations have been added to the city Board of Honor. The winners were recognized as those who achieved the best indicators in the field of socio-economic development and saving fuel, energy, and material resources last year. In particular, the Vitebsk Tractor Spare Parts Plant, Tiraspol Agrotechservice, Road Construction Department No. 45 of Vitebsk, the branch "Bridge Construction Department No. 5" of the open joint-stock company "Mostostroy", and the Vitebsk communal production unitary enterprise of boiler houses and heat supply networks "VPKiTS" became the best in the labor competition. Also recognized were the branch "Vitebskvodtrans" of RUESP "Dnieper-Bug Waterway", the Vitebsk branch of "Belpochta", and OAO "Mir Usług Plus" and "Vitmil".
Among the districts of Vitebsk, Oktyabrsky District was noted, and Polotsky and Postavy districts were included in the regional Honor Board. "I think this success is not accidental. And for the first time, Postavy District has been included in the regional Honor Board, along with our construction organization, agricultural enterprise, and territorial center. We are simply conscientiously and responsibly fulfilling the tasks set by the head of state and the governor. The district is predominantly agricultural, although industry accounts for 70% and agriculture for 30% of the gross output. But over the past five years, we have achieved significant indicators in agriculture, increased gross output and milk and grain production, and increased the cattle population by 5,000 heads. Large-scale construction of dairy farms is underway. Therefore, there are results. And this is the merit of all collectives, leaders of industrial and agricultural enterprises, the social sphere, and so on. This is a holiday for the entire Postavy District," noted the chairman of the district executive committee, Sergey Chepik.
The regional Honor Board also includes 17 organizations. Among the leaders are Vitebsk Radio Components Plant "Monolit", Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant and "Izmeritel" Plant, "Vitebskoblgaz", agricultural enterprises "Shayterovo", "Novoselki-Luchai", OJSC "Vesta". In addition, Glubokoye Mobile Mechanized Column-48, "Rassvet Postavsky" enterprise, Vitebsk branch of "Beltelecom", "Lettsy" sanatorium, "Lotos" association, Gymnasium No. 2 of the regional center, Vitebsk Hockey Club, Cultural and Historical Complex "Golden Ring of Vitebsk City Dvina" were recognized as the best.
"We are trying to increase the production volumes of agricultural products, animal husbandry, milk, meat, and we increase grain production every year. Last year was not bad - 15 thousand tons. This is the merit of the entire team, from the crop farmer, tractor driver, livestock breeder, all specialists, to the management. This year, we have many plans, we are building a lot: we want to commission a dryer and a dairy farm for 640 heads," said Yuri Shimchik, director of "Novoselki-Luchai".
Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin, congratulating the winners of the competition, noted that they are talented and hardworking people. "Time has set us serious tasks - to create high-tech industries, to transfer the agro-industrial complex to the rails of innovative development, to increase the efficiency of scientific research, to master new markets for product sales. In 2022, the Vitebsk region ensured the growth of gross agricultural production, wholesale trade and public catering, and exports of goods and services. 306 thousand sq. m of housing were built, including 120 thousand sq. m with state support. 414 new enterprises and productions started operating, one third of them in the manufacturing sector. In 2022, the construction of a slaughter and processing shop for pigs and cattle at the Orsha Meat Canning Plant, a pig breeding complex in the Liozno district, the modernization of the grain drying complex at the Vitebsk MES, and the commissioning of an automated line for the production of molded bread at Vitebskhleboprom were completed. After reconstruction, the bridge over the Western Dvina in Novopolotsk was opened. Among the social projects are the completed reconstruction of the hospital on Maxim Gorky Street (in Vitebsk. - Belta note), the sports and recreation complex in Glubokoye, and the sports complex in Chashniki. In Orsha, the Military History Museum named after Hero of the Soviet Union Zaslonov and a hotel were commissioned," he said.
The head of the northern region dwelled separately on the indicators of the noted districts and some enterprises. According to him, the Vitebsk, Polotsk, and Postavy districts made a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the region last year. For example, agricultural organizations in the Vitebsk district harvested a record grain and leguminous crop - more than 100 thousand tons of grain, or 115% compared to 2021. And the profitability of sales in agricultural organizations amounted to more than 11%.
"There are beacons in agriculture and forestry, construction, transport, communications, trade, education, healthcare, culture, and sports. There are many distinguished collectives and authoritative people in the Vitebsk region," emphasized Alexander Subbotin. On behalf of the regional executive committee, he expressed gratitude to all collectives and their leaders who have distinguished themselves by efficiency, innovation, and stability: "Many thanks to the true professionals in their field. Being here, on Victory Square, a sacred place for each of us, in the Year of Peace and Creation, we want to reaffirm once again that hard work, solidarity, and unity help the Belarusian people to look confidently into the future. Knowledge, professionalism, responsibility, and a sense of ownership will ensure success in any endeavor."
