Regional competitions among energy workers are held in Vitebsk

The Vitebsk region is hosting regional competitions for brigades involved in the repair and maintenance of 0.4–10 kV distribution power grids. Specialists from these units are a crucial link in ensuring reliable and uninterrupted power supply in the Vitebsk region. They have to navigate through forests and swamps and promptly eliminate the consequences of natural disasters in any weather. It is these individuals who determine how quickly electricity will be restored to homes after an outage.

Four teams from Vitebsk, Polotsk, Orsha, and Glubokoye are demonstrating their professional skills at the training center of RUP "Vitebskenergo".

— These competitions contribute to the professional growth of personnel, allow us to identify the best, and implement new technologies in our work, — said Vladimir Lapoukhov, Head of the Electrical Grids Service at RUP "Vitebskenergo". — They are held every three years in several stages. Selection takes place at the level of district electrical networks, the region, the republic, and CIS countries.

The competitions consist of 7 stages, designed to simulate various situations that distribution power grid repair and maintenance brigades encounter daily, such as replacing wires or poles. The organizers have also prepared non-standard tasks for the participants: rescuing a person who has come into contact with live voltage, and extinguishing a fire in electrical equipment.
