Regional "Zazhynki" held in Vitebsk region

The harvesting campaign of the Vitebsk region has started in the agro-town of Mazolovo, Vitebsk district, where the first ears of grain were threshed by combine harvesters of SPK "MazolovoGaz". The festive ceremony "Zazhynki" was attended by Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin, representatives of district executive committees, and heads of agro-industrial associations of the region.

In one of the leading farms of the region, where the region's grain growers celebrated a great holiday today, experienced specialists work, who know the value of every grain. Nikolay Silmanovich has been operating a combine harvester for about 30 years. He is a hereditary agriculturist: his father drove a grain harvesting ship through the sea of grain, and his mother was a tractor driver – she plowed, sowed, and was involved in hauling grain. As a sixth-grader, a native of the Sharkovshchyna district, together with his father on a "Niva", he learned the basics of the agricultural profession. The mechanic noted that the equipment he worked with in his childhood cannot be compared with modern machinery, which is distinguished by its comfort and high productivity. During the harvest, combine operators are well-fed, always provided with work clothes, and breakdowns are promptly fixed because spare parts are always available. Last year, Nikolay Silmanovich, who had worked at "MazolovoGaz" for 16 years, threshed more than 1.1 thousand tons of grain, and this year he wants to aim for 2 thousand tons. The main thing, the agriculturist says, is that the weather plays into their hands and there are enough fields, and they plan to harvest a good crop.

Alexander Subbotin noted that deeds are more important than words, and the region's agricultural workers have great hopes for the current harvest. The governor and honored guests accepted the first sheaves and wished success to the workers of the grain fields.

The heads of the districts were presented with gifts - merchandise from the First. Now each chairman of the district executive committee has a parting message from the President: "Take off your coat and get to work." On this occasion, Alexander Subbotin remarked to Vladimir Andreichenko that these words would be taken as a call to serious work on harvesting the crops.

"At the conference call, the President set specific tasks. Today is a very difficult time, when sanctions against Belarus are unfortunately tightening from the collective West. The foundation of the country's policy is the economy. As for agriculture, it is primarily bread production. Our well-being, stability, and security will depend on the amount of harvest obtained. The harvest this year is the most important strategic task for Belarus. I want to wish everyone success and a large harvest for the Vitebsk region. Godspeed!" - said the Chairman of the House of Representatives.-0-
