Regional "Masters of the Village" will be chosen by September 2
Regional stages of the "Village Master" project will be held from August 16 to September 2, the head of the project activities department of the CC of the NGO "BRSM" Tamara Onashchenko told a BELTA correspondent.
Young families with children living in rural areas and working in agriculture for at least three years are participating in the project. Winners of the district stages will compete in the regional tours.
Young families will have to demonstrate their talents in eight competitions. For example, in one of them, "We Greet in Belarusian," participants will present small theatrical sketches about one day of their family, family traditions, hobbies, and interests to the jury. A mandatory condition is the presentation of a Belarusian national costume, taking into account the family's region of residence. Then, young families will go "For Firewood," harness and unharness the "Festive Cart," tie and stack sheaves in the "Reaped Strip," compete for the title of the best "Potato Growers," present the "Exhibition of Achievements of Subsidiary Farms," and feed the jury with "Peasant Delicacies." In addition, participants will shoot video clips about their subsidiary farms and present them in the "Best Rural Homestead" competition.
The final, where the winners of the regional stages of the project will meet, will take place during the republican festival-fair of agricultural workers "Dazhynki-2013" in Zhlobin.
The republican family agricultural project "Village Master," which promotes the settlement of young families in rural areas, popularizes agricultural labor, revives labor dynasties, and strengthens the institution of the family, has been held in Belarus since 2008. The project consists of three main stages: district, regional, and final – republican, which allows attracting the maximum number of young families to participate in the project.
The organizers are the Public Association "Belarusian Republican Youth Union", the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, OJSC "Belagroprombank", the Public Association "Belarusian Women's Union".
