The renovated polyclinic will open in Bogushevsk on the 130th anniversary of the settlement

August 13, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The urban settlement of Богушевск (Sennensky district) will celebrate its 130th anniversary on August 14, the chairperson of the Богушевский settlement executive committee, Lyubov Trubeko, told a BELTA correspondent. The grand celebration will bring together not only the residents of the settlement and Sennensky district, but also numerous guests from neighboring districts, Vitebsk, and Minsk. It will open with a ceremonial meeting at the Богушевский House of Culture, where participants will recall memorable dates of the settlement, interesting events, and famous fellow countrymen. The celebration will be accompanied by performances of amateur dance and vocal groups. A significant event for the residents of Богушевск on this day will be the opening of the polyclinic after reconstruction, which serves over 9,000 people – residents of the settlement and nearby settlements. About Br840 million was allocated for the renovation of the facility, which also includes a children's and women's clinic. In addition, Br347.3 million was spent on the purchase of medical equipment, and Br62.9 million – on furniture. About 30 medical staff members will serve visitors, capable of receiving up to 130 people per shift. The festive program for guests and residents of Богушевск will take place on five thematic sites: "Children's World," "At the Halt," "Health Alley," "O, Sport, Thou Art Peace!" and "Guest Courtyard." Performances by local and invited groups will be held here, a circus program for children, and various attractions will be presented. Lovers of a healthy lifestyle and football fans will be invited to participate in a football tournament. Participants of the festivities will be able to refresh themselves at catering establishments. In the evening, young people and all lovers of nightlife will enjoy a "musical serpentine," a lively "Dance Till Morning" party, and a colorful fireworks display in the night sky of the 130-year-old settlement. Bogushevsk traces its history back to 1879. It is believed that the first residents settled here thanks to the miraculous chapel of St. Maccabees. The name of the settlement was determined at the beginning of the 20th century, when a large plot of land belonged to the local landowner Dmitry Bogushevsky. In 1901, he practically gave away the land for free for the construction of a railway station, with the sole condition that it be named after his wife – Bogushevskaya. -0-
