An updated fire and rescue station has been opened in Orsha

Обновленная пожарная аварийно-спасательная часть открыта в Орше
The renovated fire and rescue station No. 1 of the Orsha City and District Department for Emergency Situations was opened today in Orsha. The solemn event was attended by Minister of Emergency Situations Vladimir Vashchenko, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies Vladimir Terentyev, and Chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee Alexander Poznyak.

Vladimir Vashchenko noted that Orsha has received an almost new fire station. During the reconstruction, the old building had to be literally completely dismantled and rebuilt from the foundation up. "The Orsha district has been tasked by the head of state to develop industry, agriculture, create new jobs, and build housing. Of course, all this must be accompanied by reliable protection of our citizens," the minister said. "The renovated station has all the conditions for employees to effectively perform their professional duties."

In parallel with the reconstruction of the building, work was carried out to equip the unit, and comfortable conditions for service were created. According to the minister, rescuers are now placing a strong emphasis on the prevention and warning of emergency situations. "We actively explain to the public what carelessness leads to. Preventive work is carried out jointly with authorities, who are understanding and provide support. The development of rescue services is very important for responding in case of need to help people," he said.

Continuing the theme of development, Vladimir Vashchenko added that the Ministry of Emergency Situations is actively engaged in construction and reconstruction. "Units are being equipped with the most modern equipment and machinery. All this is done to provide assistance to people in distress at the highest professional level," the head of the ministry emphasized.

He also touched upon the topic of voluntary fire brigades. "We are studying the experience of other countries. Voluntary brigades are being created in enterprises and organizations, where training is conducted with our support.

said Vladimir Vashchenko. - In accordance with the instructions of the head of state, experimental voluntary units have been created in each district. They provide us with significant support. A decree on the development of this movement is currently being prepared. The more people involved in this matter, the fewer troubles we will have and the more understanding there will be. When people directly interact and see what carelessness leads to, they will become more careful and cautious."

The Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies, Vladimir Terentyev, in turn, noted that the employees of the rescue unit have received everything necessary for effective work and comfortable rest. "On the whole, this is our safety. If all conditions are created for professionals, we can sleep soundly," he said.

The Chairman of the Regional Council also noted that the renovated building harmoniously blended in and adorned the historical part of Orsha. "It has been practically recreated in its original form, but has become modern and functional," Vladimir Terentyev summarized. The reconstruction of the depot began in 2016. Currently, the construction and installation work on the renovation of the main two-story building has been completed. The premises are equipped with the necessary equipment and furniture.

The number of personnel of the PSCH has increased to 46 people, the unit is equipped with equipment (by the way, a modern fire truck with a capacity of 10 tons was presented to the Orsha rescuers today by the ministry). Work will continue, and it is still necessary to complete the reconstruction of the production building, garages for reserve equipment, and the utility building. The reconstruction is financed from the funds of the off-budget centralized investment fund of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the own funds of the Vitebsk regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The Orsha city and district department for emergency situations is one of the largest garrisons in Belarus. The history of the fire service in the city dates back to 1907, when the staffing of fire brigades for Orsha was approved.
