The renovated Vitebsk railway station will monitor its cleanliness with the help of an innovative lift, the Vitebsk branch of Belarusian Railways told a BELTA correspondent. The regional branch, using its own funds, was the first in the region to acquire a unique self-propelled articulated boom lift, which allows work at heights of up to 22 m without damaging the floor covering, as the unit moves on rubber tracks. The equipment is designed for the maintenance, cleaning and repair of the reconstructed station complex in Vitebsk, both inside and outside. The use of transport lifts at the station is limited by the architectural and technical features of the building. The involvement of industrial climbers is a rather expensive way to maintain order, and besides, even they cannot always reach the height of a five-story building to clean, for example, the chandeliers in the lobby. The new lift is mobile - it easily passes through doorways, and is controlled remotely, and the safety system for carrying out work is provided automatically. As noted in the branch, during the reconstruction of the station complex in Vitebsk, it was possible to preserve elements of Soviet monumental classicism, while actively implementing innovative developments, modern European technologies and methods aimed at improving the quality of service. Maximum convenience was created for passengers, including those with disabilities. -0-
