The renovated railway station complex at Gorodok station opened today in the district center, BELTA was informed by a correspondent from the UP "Vitebsk branch of Belarusian Railway".

The reconstruction lasted more than six months, and Br15 billion was spent on construction and engineering works, modernization and improvement of the railway station complex. The station building has been completely renovated, featuring a modern information and reference system. To optimize ticket purchases, a payment and information terminal has been installed in the building, allowing passengers to purchase tickets for regional line trains using a bank card. The train schedule is now displayed on an LED screen.

Renovated or newly constructed auxiliary buildings and structures have been commissioned, including a boiler house that has been converted from solid fuel to natural gas.

Not only the quality of passenger service has improved, but also the working conditions for station employees and the Vitebsk track distance, Vitebsk signaling and telecommunication distance – they have been provided with new utility rooms. Residential buildings have been repaired and adjacent territories have been improved not only at Gorodok station but also at some other stations along the Vitebsk-Yazeryshche railway line.

To ensure safety, internal and external video surveillance cameras have been installed at the station, and a pedestrian crossing with a signaling system has been built to prevent accidents on the tracks.

Overall, as noted in the Vitebsk branch of Belarusian Railway, the reconstruction of the railway station complex is socially oriented. The main goal is to achieve the required quality of services, ensure their accessibility and safety, and create optimal technology and standards for servicing passengers, freight forwarders, and consignees.

The solemn opening ceremony of the renovated station complex at Gorodok station was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, Belarusian Railway and the Vitebsk branch, local authorities, and the public.
