An educational and development center for gifted children will appear in the Vitebsk region in 2018
Today, Alexey Sychev took part in the launch events of the new regional program to support young scientists and athletes of the Vitebsk region "Talent". The program will be implemented in several areas. One of them is the creation of a center for working with talented children in the region. "We want to open it on the basis of one of the summer health resorts. Young talents from all cities and districts of the region will gather there in shifts. Business and science representatives will work with them. Children will be directly involved in the development of interesting ideas," said Alexey Sychev.
According to him, this summer educational and developmental center for gifted children will start its work in 2018. The center will bring together children who have shown talent in chemistry, biology, mathematics, computer science, physics, foreign languages, sports, etc. For schoolchildren, it is planned to conduct specialized classes, master classes, and meetings with professionals.
The organizers promise to take care of developmental leisure and a complex of health procedures. The program will be free for participants. Another area of implementation of the "Talent" project is the allocation of grants for achievements in the field of natural and exact sciences, and sports (in the future, it is planned to support talents in the field of art). Cash prizes will be awarded to students in grades 8-11 who have become winners of international subject Olympiads, athletes-prize winners of world and European championships, and winners of international art competitions.
In addition, it is planned to encourage the winners of the scientific project competition among students of general secondary education institutions (organized by the education department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee). "Talent" will also organize its own internal competition.
The "Talenta'vita" program is funded by the Union "Medicine and Pharmaceuticals - Innovative Projects" and the company "Nitivita". The project is implemented with the support of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee and the State Committee on Science and Technology. "Support for talented youth should come not only from the state but also from business. Many enterprises are interested in young talented personnel, and business needs fresh ideas. "Talenta'vita" is an open-ended program. We are interested in its development and are open to other partners who wish to support talented youth," summarized Alexey Sychev. Today, the first meeting of the program's expert council was held in Vitebsk, and a meeting with the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, took place. Among the program's experts are famous athletes Vadim Devyatovsky, Vladislav Goncharov, Vadim Streltsov, Arvydas Sabonis (Lithuania). The scientific field in the expert council will be represented by rectors and university scientists. Among the special guests who came to Vitebsk to support the project are the Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of Belarus, Alexander Shumilin, and the Deputy Minister of Sports and Tourism, Mikhail Portnoy. Members of the expert council visited general education institutions and sports schools, and a meeting was held with prize-winners of regional and republican Olympiads (students of grades 8-11), students who achieved good results in sports, top students, teachers, and educators. The event was held in the format of an open dialogue "Start to Success" at the Vitebsk State Medical University.
