Public associations nominated the largest number of candidates for work in precinct election commissions in the Vitebsk region

The largest number of candidates for participation in the work of territorial election commissions for the election of the President of the Republic of Belarus in the Vitebsk region were nominated by public associations and parties, said Leonid Dorofeyenko, Deputy Head of the Department of Organizational and Personnel Work of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, to a BELTA correspondent. The nomination of representatives to the territorial commissions took place until October 31. In the Vitebsk region, 12,560 people are applying for work in 911 territorial commissions. Of these, 4,968 were nominated by public organizations and parties, 4,604 people by citizens, and another 2,988 people by labor collectives. The formation of commissions will be completed on November 3, Leonid Dorofeyenko recalled. In accordance with the Electoral Code, the number of members of territorial commissions ranges from 5 to 19 people. As reported by the Department of Organizational and Personnel Work of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, there are 28 territorial commissions for the election of the President of the Republic of Belarus operating in the region, including 1 regional, 21 district, 3 city commissions operating in cities of regional subordination, and three district commissions in the city. In total, 364 people work in the commissions. More than half of them represent public associations and political parties, 27.7% were nominated by citizens through signature collection, and 19.8% by labor collectives. The commissions include members of the Belarusian Left Party "A Just World", the Communist Party of Belarus, the Liberal Democratic Party, the United Civil Party, and the Republican Party of Labor and Justice. More than 60% of the commission members are women, and young people under 30 account for 9.1%. -0-
