Public organizations of the Vitebsk region provide comprehensive support to young families
– The topic of protecting motherhood and childhood sounds particularly clear today. The demographic situation in the republic and the region is not improving.
State bodies and public formations in their activities are aimed at motivating young people to start families, have children, and provide them with all possible support, – emphasized Tatyana Vladimirovna.
She also recalled the extensive system of state support for families raising children. In particular, 11 types of benefits are provided. The monthly payment for childcare for a child under 3 years of age is over 370 rubles for the first child and almost 430 rubles for the second and subsequent children. The one-time benefit for the firstborn is 10 living wage budgets, and for the birth of the second and subsequent children – 14 LWB. Family capital has been provided to 6.6 thousand large families in the Vitebsk region since the program's inception, including 616 deposits opened in the first half of 2019.
By January 1, 2020, it is planned to create an automated information system for accounting for large families in our country, which will update data and help improve the provision of targeted assistance.
The Peace Foundation also supports parents and children. In particular, in the Chashniki district, it recently allocated funds for the construction of a gazebo for a family-type children's home in the district center. Ahead is the International Day of Peace (September 21), when, as part of a nationwide campaign, public figures award the title "Child of Peace" to newborns born on this symbolic day, and present parents with certificates and gifts. During the existence of this kind tradition, more than 250 babies in the Vitebsk region have received this honorable title.
Activists are ready to lend a shoulder to families in difficult times. For example, financial support is currently planned for a resident of the Orsha district whose child requires expensive treatment.
A common practice for the organization is to assist social institutions, including children's ones, within the framework of the "Care" program, which is one of the key areas of work. Thus, in August, Vidzy Nursery-Kindergarten of the Braslav district received gratuitous sponsorship in the amount of 950 rubles to pay for an outdoor play complex. Even earlier, activists directed 1.5 thousand rubles in charitable funds for the arrangement of a room at the Novopolotsk Cultural Center, where events for children with disabilities, children with psychophysical development peculiarities, and other socially vulnerable categories of citizens were planned to be held.
Over 800 rubles were transferred to strengthen the material and technical base of Vitebsk City Maternity Hospital No. 2. The Peace Fund systematically supports the Regional Children's Home, which houses infants who are typically deprived of maternal warmth and care.
As a board member of the regional organization of the Belarusian Women's Union, Tatyana Vladimirovna, also spoke about the support for families with children from the women's movement.
– All this assistance, both from the Peace Fund and the women's movement, is possible thanks to local activists, primary organizations, and, of course, the kind hearts and charity of local residents, – summarized Tatyana Tumanova.
