The total period for the construction of a house on a land plot in Belarus can be extended up to 7 years

February 15, Minsk /BELTA/. The total period for building a house on a land plot in Belarus can be extended up to 7 years. This was announced today in Minsk to journalists by the Chairman of the State Property Committee Georgy Kuznetsov, BELTA correspondent reports. Currently, Belarus is undergoing a process of changing the regulatory framework for land relations, Georgy Kuznetsov noted. A draft decree on amendments to Decree No. 87, which established the procedure and terms for the construction of residential buildings, is being finalized. Decree No. 87 stated that a citizen who received a land plot must build a house there within three years. In accordance with the draft of the new document, the total period for a citizen to build a house will be extended to 7 years. The new decree will also change the procedure for conserving unfinished construction objects. "Today, there are no problems with obtaining plots; the problem is that not all citizens who have received them start building, and not all even go for registration," the chairman of the committee stated. Some citizens who receive a land plot without an auction lay a number of foundation blocks there, conserve it as an unfinished construction object, and sell it as an unfinished construction object. "This is the trading of state land plots," the head of the committee believes. The procedure for conserving an object will change, and it will be possible to conserve it only when "walls, windows, and a roof are erected on the site," Georgy Kuznetsov emphasized. -0-
