The queue of heavy trucks at the Belarusian-Russian border has been eliminated
February 25, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The situation with the crossing of the Belarusian-Russian border by heavy trucks in Redki (Dubrovensky district) has normalized, reported the head of the "Redki" road toll collection point, Alexander Moskalev, to a BELTA correspondent.
The queue of trucks that formed in Redki on February 23 was completely eliminated by the evening of February 24. Today, the traffic flow is moving in a normal mode.
As Alexander Moskalev noted, despite the change in the procedure for entering Russia by private car, which came into force on February 25, passenger cars also cross the border without hindrance in both directions.
At the "Ezerishche" crossing (Gorodok district), a BELTA correspondent was also confirmed that there are no problems with crossing the border with the Russian Federation.
As BELTA reported earlier, now, to confirm the legality of stay in Russia of temporarily imported vehicles, it will be sufficient to fill out only a passenger customs declaration; the issuance of a vehicle import certificate has been canceled. Accordingly, Russian customs authorities are relieved of the obligation to register vehicles registered in other countries and temporarily located in Russia.
The period of temporary stay of vehicles in Russia remains the same: foreign citizens can import their vehicles without paying customs duties and taxes for no more than one year. Apparently, this procedure for entering Russia by private car will also apply to citizens of Belarus for some time. On the eve of the new rules coming into force, representatives of the Russian customs stated that Belarusians would be able to enter from February 25 without filling out a passenger customs declaration. It was assumed that the parties would manage to sign the Belarusian-Russian intergovernmental agreement on the temporary import and export of vehicles. However, the agreement has not yet been signed: it is still undergoing coordination procedures. -0-
