The office of the Braslav representative will appear in Beijing
The office of the Braslav representative mission will open in October in Beijing (China), as reported by the Chairman of the Braslav District Executive Committee, Alexander Bodanin.
According to him, in July of this year, an agreement of intent for cooperation in the fields of education, economy, tourism, and investment activities was signed with "Jinren" Chinese-European Culture LLC. "Currently, the Chinese side has provided an office for the Braslav representative mission in Beijing. It is planned to start its work in October," noted Alexander Bodanin.
Also, by October 1, a website will be developed with information about the Braslav district, its tourism potential, investment proposals, offered land plots, and other relevant information about this region of Belarus. Active, systematic work is currently underway to translate this information into Chinese by employees of the partner organization.
Earlier, in accordance with the cooperation plan, a group of Chinese teachers visited Braslav from July 29 to August 9. They taught local schoolchildren the basics of their language and calligraphy. Currently, Chinese is not studied in the schools of the city and district, but considering the huge interest shown by children in the past classes, local authorities have decided to consider such a possibility in the future. Assessing the initial results of the cooperation, Alexander Bodanin emphasized its significant practical outcome. "In the future, our cooperation will allow us to seriously promote the tourism and economic potential of the Braslav region in China," the head of the district is convinced.
The tourist attractiveness of Braslav is evidenced by the annual increase in tourist flow. In 2018, the number of tourists who visited hotels, health organizations, and agro-ecotourism estates in the district was 26 thousand people (116% compared to 2017), of which 5.6 thousand were foreign citizens. Festival tourism attracts more than 20 thousand people annually.
"The development of the tourism sector will entail not only interest in organizing activities in our district
representatives of business, but also an increase in retail trade, public catering, export of services, ensuring employment of the population, and tax revenues to the budget," concluded Alexander Bodanin.
