The provision of paid dental services in the Vitebsk region increased by almost 20% in the first half of the year

July 22, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The provision of paid dental services in state dental institutions of the Vitebsk region in the first half of the year increased by almost 20% to Br7.9 billion. This was announced today by the chief physician of the Vitebsk Regional Dental Clinic, chief freelance dentist of the Vitebsk region Vasily Varganov at a press conference dedicated to the prevention of dental diseases, BELTA correspondent reports.

Annually, the volume of paid dental services provided by state medical institutions of the region increases by approximately Br2 billion, the chief dentist of the region reported. Thus, over the past year, it amounted to Br13.4 billion, which is 22% higher than the level of 2009. At the same time, a small number of residents of the Vitebsk region decided to receive the necessary assistance from specialists in private structures: they account for only 4% of the total volume of paid dental care. "Perhaps this is due to pricing policy, as prices in state institutions are still lower," believes Vasily Varganov. The share of dental services in the total volume of paid medical care in the region is 35%.

Significant attention is planned to be paid to the development of dental services export this year. The focus in this matter is primarily on the medical institutions of the Postavy, Glubokoye and Braslav districts, which are favorably located geographically for the development of medical tourism, added the chief dentist of the region.-0-
