About 1 million flowers will decorate Vitebsk this spring

New colors and patterns will be woven into Vitebsk's flowerbeds this spring, announced Valentina Shendyukova, Deputy Director for Production at the Vitebsk Zelenstroy enterprise.

The city's floral design is already underway. Daily teams of female workers, numbering over 50 people, are planting approximately 10-15 thousand flowers. Frost-resistant cinerarias and gazanias were the first to appear on the flowerbeds. Later, they will be joined by lobelias, begonias, salvias, alyssums, marigolds, pelargoniums, and various tagetes, as well as petunias and surfinia, which are used for vertical landscaping, all favorites of the citizens.

Newcomers will add touches of diversity to the overall picture - crested celosia, New Guinea impatiens, new varieties of marigolds, and coleus. "We studied their properties and acclimatization and decided to try them. They will be visible on the central streets of the city. The choice is not accidental: this way we will get more feedback and decide whether to use them in the future," noted Valentina Shendyukova.

Mass planting of flowers in the regional center will take place during the May holidays. A total of about 1 million such plants are planned to be planted.
