Approximately 10 preschool institutions need to be built in the Vitebsk region in the near future

August 25, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. About 10 new preschool institutions need to be built in the Vitebsk region in the near future. This was announced today to journalists by the Deputy Minister of Education of Belarus, Kazimir Farino. He is taking part in the regional pedagogical conference dedicated to the start of the new academic year, BELTA correspondent reports. Special attention should be paid to the construction of new preschool institutions in the region, particularly in Vitebsk, Orsha, and Polotsk. At the same time, Kazimir Farino noted that, on the whole, the region's coverage of children in the preschool education system is one of the highest in the country. "We are also satisfied with the level of health improvement work in the region's preschool education institutions, including the increase in sanatorium groups with special operating procedures for children," the deputy minister said. Expressing satisfaction with the region's general secondary education system, Kazimir Farino emphasized the work done to optimize its structure. This year, just over 20 educational institutions have been closed in the Vitebsk region, which is the largest number in the country compared to other regions. Moreover, local authorities approached this issue very carefully, ensuring student transportation to new schools and the employment of all teachers. As a result, the optimization proceeded without complaints from either parents or teachers. The priority in this process was not financial issues, but improving the quality of education, which is difficult to provide in small schools. Answering a question from a BELTA correspondent regarding the attire of schoolchildren and teachers, Kazimir Farino stated that the Ministry of Education has uniform requirements for it: it must be business-like, elegant, and functional. "There are uniform requirements, but no requirements for uniformity of clothing," he noted. Today, domestic manufacturers offer more than 100 models of children's school clothing. "We see problem areas and have clearly defined for manufacturers the direction in which to work to meet the growing demands of parents," the Deputy Minister of Education added. The main thing is that schoolchildren and teachers look beautiful, elegant, and feel dignified and comfortable in the classroom. -0-
