About 115,000 residents of the Vitebsk region took part in mass events dedicated to Victory Day

About 115,000 residents of the Vitebsk region took part in mass celebrations on the occasion of Victory Day, the information and public relations department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee told a BELTA correspondent. All events organized in the region on May 9 took place peacefully, without public order violations, the Internal Affairs Directorate noted. In the regional center, more than 7,500 citizens representing enterprises, organizations, and institutions took part in the festive procession. Another 2,000 people gathered at a rally on Victory Square near the memorial complex in honor of the liberator soldiers, partisans, and underground fighters of the Vitebsk region. The main cultural venue in the city was Victory Square, where an entertainment program with performances by artists from educational institutions and the "Vitebsk" cultural center was held throughout the day, and an evening fireworks display took place in the evening. The Park named after the Soviet Army also became a popular recreation spot for citizens on May 9. Other festive events organized in all districts of Vitebsk, as well as in cities and district centers, were also successful. -0-
