About 150 ski shooters will start the republican Spartakiad among youth sports schools in Novopolotsk
March 4, Vitebsk / Sergei Kochetov - BELTA /. About 150 young athletes will compete in the republican biathlon games among children's and youth sports schools (CYSS), which will be held from March 5 to 7 in Novopolotsk. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the director of the Novopolotsk Olympic Reserve School, Valery Gushchin.
Almost 20 teams from sports educational institutions from all regions of the country will take part in the competitions, with each team consisting of four boys and four girls born in 1996-1997. The young athletes will compete in three types of events to determine the strongest. On the first day, there will be races without shooting: 5 km for girls and 7.5 km for boys. The games will continue with sprint races (with shooting) for boys over 6 km and for girls over 4 km. The final event will be a mixed relay race of 4 x 4 km, with two boys and two girls competing in each stage of the team.
Winners and prize-winners in team and individual championships will be awarded medals, diplomas, and valuable prizes. In addition, based on the results of the games, the Novopolotsk Olympic Reserve School, which has hosted the races for the sixth consecutive time, plans to select candidates for training, as was the case with a member of the national biathlon team, Evgeny Abramenko: the promising athlete was noticed at one of the games and then successfully graduated from the Novopolotsk Olympic Reserve School. -0-
