About 150 athletes will take part in the republican freestyle wrestling tournament in Vitebsk

April 15, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The open republican freestyle wrestling tournament in memory of the honored coach of Belarus V.S. Zubkov will be held on April 16-17 in Vitebsk, the department of physical culture, sports and tourism of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. The tournament participants - about 150 athletes from all regions of Belarus, as well as guests from Daugavpils and Smolensk - will gather in Vitebsk today. Vitebsk region will be represented by wrestlers from the regional center and Orsha, where this sport is cultivated. The grand opening of the competition will take place at the central sports complex "Dynamo" on April 16. The competitions will be held in individual standings among men and women in eight weight categories. The names of the winners will be announced on April 17. Diplomas and awards await them. The tournament is one of the stages of athletes' preparation for the Belarusian freestyle wrestling championship, which will be held in June. -0-
