About 20,000 people took part in the "Let's Sing the Anthem Together" event on Victory Square in Vitebsk

July 3, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. About a thousand participants from various creative groups performed the anthem of Belarus on Victory Square in Vitebsk. Together with them, almost 20,000 residents and guests of the regional center took part in the "Let's Sing the Anthem Together" event, BELTA correspondent reports. Addressing the participants of the event, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Kosinets said that holding this event has become a good tradition in recent years. "The event unites adults and children, veterans and youth with common feelings of patriotism, pride and love for their native Belarus. Our anthem symbolizes the continuity of historical traditions of representatives of different generations of the Belarusian people, reflects the new political, economic and social conditions of Belarus as a sovereign, peace-loving state, emphasizes the patriotism and diligence of our citizens, and friendly relations between representatives of all nationalities living on Belarusian land," said the head of the region. He expressed his conviction that the true sovereignty of any state is possible only when its people are united by a common spiritual impulse in the desire to make their country prosperous and thriving. "Belarusians are creating the chronicle of their young independent state with their own hands and intellect. And this is our advantage and prospect," emphasized the chairman of the regional executive committee. "Independence Day is a significant holiday. It provides an opportunity to look back, assess the present, and outline prospects for the future. The Vitebsk region is successfully fulfilling the forecast indicators of socio-economic development, which gives confidence in improving the quality of life of people. And for us, this is the main thing - that citizens live with dignity," concluded Alexander Kosinets. -0-
